What to expect: Havaianas 2013 Collection!

Last December I was invited to Havaianas’ headquarters for a private viewing of their latest collection for 2013. Havaianas will always be my favorite flipflop! I remember way back in elementary I learned to save money just because I want a pair of plain white havs so I can’t be left out with my friends. Over the years, havs remained as the ultimate footwear for people of all ages. For me, this is the only slippers that you can wear without looking “cheap”.

What I’ve been eating after the Holidays!

Holidays are over but still all I’m seeing in our fridge and dining table especially during lunch and dinner was the leftovers from Media Noche and some are even from our Noche Buena. I’m sick of eating pork and beef, I feel like there’s a heavy baggage of meat inside my tummy that will be here forever. Hahah! As much as I can, I stop myself from eating because I’m getting fatter and fatter and it isn’t good. Now I believe that this is really the season to be chubby!!

To solve this problem, I changed my meal plan. I injected fruits in between meals, I also changed my dinner to a fruit meal consisting of mostly bananas and pineapples. Good thing I have DOLE products! Thank you so much Aluotta Group for sending me these goodies!

Here are some of my favorites:

Diced fruits in cups that I can bring anywhere. Perfect for busy persons who doesn’t have time to peel and cut fruits. The cup is very light and it’s also microwaveable. 

Peaches!

This is my ultimate favorite! I love the crisps! It added crunch and made eating extra fun. The syrup is just right and not too sweet  My dad also liked it, in the end kaagaw ko pa siya! =))) Hello dad!

One more thing na sinawaan ko after Holidays are sodas. Thank God they also sent me these canned juice drinks. I love Inner Beauty Juice Up, which can help you achieve a glowing skin. The flavor is so good especially when it’s super cold! I love the mixture of rambutan and pineapple, who would have taught that they will taste good together? 

The other one is pineapple juice drink that will help you rejuvinate and increase your natural energy. 

The best thing I liked about this, is that, even if you don’t shake it, the taste is the same starting from the moment you drink it up until you finish it, unlike other canned juice na the taste was just in the lower portion.

As of today, I already finished all that they sent me. Might visit the supermarket tomorrow to grab more. Thinking of doing this for the whole year. Hello healthy living?? =))))

Ace Hotel & Suites Grand Launch

Last 12, 12, 12 I attended the launch of a four-start hotel opened in the heart of the Metro, no other than Ace Hotel and Suites, located in Brixton St. Pasig City. Ace is known for their relaxing water inspired spas, and now there are moving to the next level in creating place where you can stay after a day of relaxation.

Guests were entertained by a song number while indulging their selves in a sumptuous buffet. Also took advantages of taking photos of the foods so you’ll have an idea what their restos/bars can offer. The food was good especially the pastas and sandwiches.

Desserts! Love their red velvet cake and the choco truffles.

The event proper was held in the pool area. Hosted by Raymond and Patty.

The event started with an awesome synchronized swimming performance.

Cool! Also, one of the event’s highlight was the fashion show by Francis Libiran showcasing his resort Wear Collection! Here are of his designs that I’m eye-ing.

Burst of colors! I’m so in love with the gowns especially the beaded and flowy ones! Congratulations Francis!

Congratulations to the whole team for a successful launch! Can’t wait for my next visit to try the water spa experience the rooms thank you so much Jennet and Katie!!

Eat’s a date: Lab GastroPub

Long overdue post! I always see this restaurant whenever we eat at Vikings but it was only last November 30, when I got a chance to try it! Thank you Openrice! Sorry for the low quality pics, forgot my slr and used my ipad instead.

Lab is not just a fine dining restaurant it is also a good hideout and a good place to drink! They also serve liquors and cocktails.

Starter: Lab Sisig (195)

— A bit spicy but I like it because its saucy. Good amount of pork, unlike other sisig na puro liver! It’s different because the egg on top is already cooked.

Gambas Potstickers (130)

— Spicy spanish tapas made in homemade gyoza wrapper. A bit spicy especially the sauce but the filling is a mixture of sweetness and saltiness.

Eisbein Patatim (790)

— Crowd’s favorite!! I love the tender meat and the crispy skin dipped in Asian sauce!! 

The lab caldereta pie (390)

— Not the typical spicy caldereta, I love the creamy taste because of the mashed potato on top. My only problem is that the other meat I got was not so tender but all in all it’s good.

Lab burger (345)

— What I love about this burger is the bread they used, not the typical bun but a french toast! The patty is delicious plus there is only a small amount of vegetables inside that’s why I liked it! The mayonaise tastes like cream and the fries are also good!

The lab chicken wings (285)

— Crunchy wings with sweet sauce!! babe’s favorite!!

Salmon Sinaing (550)

— Not a fan of fish dishes but it’s good! The meat is tender and the taste was just right!

Usda tapa notch 750 grande || 1450 humongo

— This was served medium rare that’s why I don’t eat that much, the taste was okay but I think it’s better if it is well done.

And for the dessert, Baked Halo- Halo 250

—  From baked caldereta, we now go to baked halo-halo! The taste and the sweetness level was just right. There are so many ingredients inside and I love the cheesy and creamy taste. The filling was not that sweet maybe because it will compliment well with the sweet mousse on top.
