The assemblers so much ready for the battle! They’re still students and this event was just their summer job. Cool!

Full house!

The finish product. They said it’s a bit girly bec of the rhinestone but babe liked it so much. (Thank god) hihihi =))

with Migs and Shen

OOTD :)

Happened last May 29, 2013 at Rockwell Tent. Media and celebrities gathered for a fun night of colour, imagination and creativity. This year they collaborated with a Filipino artist named Dan Matutina.

Havaianas proudly introduces its collaboration with Filipino illustrator and Havaianatico Dan Matutina for the first Make Your Own Havaianas glow-in-the-dark commemorative pair. Dan Matutina + Havaianas, available in carbon blue sole, features spacemen with space markers connecting the stars to form images—representing how Havaianas enables everyone’s creativity and imagination to take off to greater heights.
.

I was so thrilled because this was my first ever MYOH. Thank you so much Geiser Maclang for inviting me.

Went here with Shen, Miguel and Carvey. Decided to make a pair for the bf since I have several pair of havs already.

Food review: Manila Maki

Last Friday, a supposed to be interview session turned out to be a pig out session. While me and my friend Chrisna is looking for a perfect place where she will interview me for her thesis, we saw this Japanese resto along HV dela Costa in Makati.

Manila Maki is a restaurant which is a product of Filipino and Japanese fusion.

image

image

The restaurant’s interior is composed mainly of wood.

image

image

cute chairs

image

image

I love the lanterns made of Japanese newspapers!!!

image

Chrisna ordered Red rice beer which comes in a very cute bottle. I ordered Ice tea.

image

For our appetizer, we had Pinoydon Tofu (110), Our favorite tofu rolled in Japanese bread crumbs and drizzled with terriyaki sauce. Originally, one serving includes 4 pieces. I already ate one before the photo was taken. hahahah!! I was surprised because the tofu inside is very soft and tastes plain that’s it compliments well with the sauce.

image

Laguna Maki 225, nilasing na hipon, mangoes, rolled in garlic sushi rice topped with fresh tuna and drizzled with mango dressing.

— I seldom eat fresh tuna but with this, I can’t help but finish 4 slices. I love the garlic-y taste and the flavorful shrimp inside. They told us that this is one of their best sellers.

image

Heartburn Maki 195, sisig rolled in garlic aligue rice and topped with chicharon bits.

— I’m getting hungry while writing its description!!! Gahhhh!! Bestest maki in town!!!! Definitely a must-try!! The sisig and aligue tastes very well.

image

Longgiyoza 110, from the name itself, it is a gyoza made from Cabanatuan longganisa.

— Not a fan of gyozas coz I like siomai more. Chrisna said that it was good, she likes it because it is so tender and she likes the texture of the wrapper.

image

Pork Kare Katsu 215, breaded pork, smothered with a Pinoy-Japanese peanut sauce - served with grilled eggplant slices and a siide salad.

— Crunchy pork and the peanut sauce is so creamy. I tried fish and bagnet kare-kare before and now katsudon, Cool!

image

Sisigdon 185, prok sisig, chicharon & egg over rice.

— My favorite! I love the sisig because it’s crunchy and meaty. I didn’t taste any liver that’s why I liked it. Super sulit! This made me full after eating a lot if maki. hahahah =)))

image

But yeah! I still have room for dessert! We ordered, Banana Surprise 115, it’s like “maruya” topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

— The maruya thing is crunchy and not too sweet. I suggest you eat it while it’s still hot so it will compliment well with the ice cream and cream.

me with Chrisna

image

While we are enjoying our food, the waiters told us that the owner is around. Meet Alain Panlilio :)) Thank you so much Alain for serving us your best sellers and for accommodating us. I’ll surely be back and bring my friends/office mates.

Over all rating 9/10

DELIMONDO Day!

After posting an Instagram photo of the Delimondo goodies I got, I received a gazillion of positive feedback especially for their corned beef, so, I decided to allot a day wherein I’ll eat their products starting from breakfast until dinner.

Just a brief history, Delimondo, a line of high-quality gourmet products ranging from cooked food to deli meat, was built on the ideas and vision of Ms. Katrina Ponce Enrile, CEO of the JAKA Group of Companies. Food is very much close to her heart, and with the acquisition of a food processing plant in 1995, her passion to create good old-fashioned, American-style corned beef - just the way her father, Senator Juan Ponce Enrile liked it - became a reality.
When Delimondo was started, it became the JAKA Food Processing Corporation’s (JFPC) flagship brand. Delimondo passes the most meticulous of culinary experts and gourmands, following the strictest standards in the food processing industry.

image

Here’s what they sent me: Chili & Garlic Sauce, Dulong in Olive Oil, Deli Luncheon Meat, Garlic and Cheese Sausage and their best sellers, Garlic & Chili and Ranch Style Corned Beef.

Breakfast

image

I woke up early so I can have a breakfast. I tried the first piece of the Garlic & Cheese sausage. Sorry if it looks “sunog” in the photo. I just love eating toasted cold cuts especially hotdogs!

image

Look at the cheese, it bursted after I pinched it with my fork! Yum!!

What I love:

Garlic-y taste. It’s my first time to try a chicken sausage with a garlic taste.

The cheese is flowing, unlike other cheese dogs that only have cheese bits inside, with this, when you cut it in half you can see that it’s really full of cheese.

It’s soft unlike other big sausages that’s a bit hard to cut (makunat).

What I hate:

None, aside from the fact that a pack only consists of two pieces. I hope there’s a dozen per pack! Hahah!!

Lunch

image

For lunch, I tried their Luncheon meat

What I love:

Tasty

World class taste, its a better replacement for spam because it’s not too salty

Still taste good even without putting ketchup

What I hate:

None, I hope next time they can come up with different variants like chicken luncheon meat or better if they can have a garlic & cheese too! I’ll be the first buyer if that happens!

Dinner

image

image

image

Proud to say that I’m the one who cooked it! Added diced potatoes and garlic.

image

Tadahh! My toasted corned beef!

What I love:

Chunky

Flavorful even without putting salt and pepper

The taste was just right, not too salty and not oily

Even I made it toasted, the taste is still there and the beef is still soft

Not “maanggo” as they say, and you can taste that it’s really made of high quality beef

Good amount of serving, one can is perfect for two-three person

What I hate:

None!!!!!!

They also have other products, see photo below for the list and their prices as well:

image

image
After trying delimondo, I guess I better believe in the saying that Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, Yes Delimondo is minimalist in style but not in taste. You really got the best in every pack/can.
Thank you so much Jaka Group for sending me these goodies!! Will definitely grab more products especially the sausages!!!
